Los Angeles, in the region of Guanacaste, is a place located in Costa Rica – some 89 mi or ( 143 km ) West of San José, the country’s capital.
Two UNESCO world heritage sites are close by. Area de Conservación Guanacaste is the nearest historic site in Costa Rica, located 87 kilometers (54 miles) to the north. Baird’s tapirs, white-lipped peccaries, spider monkeys, white-faced monkeys, the ubiquitous Howler monkey, three-toed sloths, deer, pumas, ocelots, jaguars, and anteaters are just a few of the many animal species that call the parks and Guanacaste region home. Many of these animals are waiting to be spotted during endless hiking excursions.
