Why buyers look at Dominical
Dominical is a beach town at the mouth of the Barú River, on the Costanera Sur coastal highway (Route 34) at the northern end of the Costa Ballena. It is known for its surf. Behind the beach the land climbs into the hills around Escaleras and toward the Nauyaca waterfalls, where many properties have long ocean views.
Route 243 climbs from Dominical to San Isidro de El General, about 50 minutes inland, and Uvita’s shops and services are about 15 minutes south. Quepos, with its hospital and domestic airport, is about half an hour north.
